Security Key, Windows Hello, or Android Phone Requirements

You can use a security key, Windows Hello, or Android phone for primary authentication (for example, you are prompted to sign in with your security key instead of entering a password after entering your user ID) or for additional authentication (for example, after you enter your user ID and password, you are prompted to sign in with your security key).

The system requirements vary based on the authentication type. Authenticators used for primary authentication also work for additional authentication.

FIDO-certified security key, for example, a USB, BLE, or NFC security key.

The security key must require multifactor authentication, such as a PIN or biometric. Before using the security key to authenticate, you must set up user verification on the key using security key management software.

For example, you can use RSA Security Key Utility to manage the PIN. For more information, contact your IT help desk.
